Cineplex Loteanu is the classic Chișinău cinema, right on Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare, two steps from downtown. It's known for sound quality, comfortable seats, and strong AC — important in summer. The program includes international premieres (dubbed or subtitled in RO/RU) and occasional festival films. Tickets start around 85 MDL; 170 MDL for two films is the standard deal. The building is classic, no modern pretense — you come for the film, not for a fancy lobby. Heads-up: not every film has an English version, check the site first.

“I think this is the best cinema in Chișinău considering sound quality and service. Prices are pretty good (payed 170 mdl for 2 movies) food is nothing special but still good. Clean toilets and floors, chairs were comfortable and thankfully a lot of air conditioning to cool off from the summer heat.”
“Nice building but several Russian soldiers or moldavian soldiers forced to only speak in Russian will not even let you the pictures of the place from far away. Had to take these quickly before the soldiers came”
“The venue claims to be wheelchair accessible, but in reality, there is a step at the main entrance with no ramp. We attended a movie with our family, and once again, there was no accessibility (Room 1) —only stairs leading to the actual screening room. Please don’t misrepresent your facilities; people with mobility issues rely on accurate information.”
