Gitana is the Dulgher family brand, built around the old Tiganca Winery — relocated in 1953 to Plopi village (Cantemir). Petru Dulgher defines the project as «strength and elegance» of Moldovan wine. In 2002 the family planted its own vineyards 70 km north, in Filipeni and Romanovca villages (Leova), in the Valul lui Traian region — a terroir with chalky soils and mild winters, known for structured reds and complex whites. The Gitana brand launched in 2009, with stainless-steel fermentation and new French oak maturation. Specialty: gold-medal Saperavi, fine Chardonnay, plus limited series (Petit Sophie, Saperavi-Cabernet). Exports to Romania and Switzerland. Cellar visit: production tour + 5-6 wine tasting in the original 1953 hall, optional lunch with local produce. The drive from Chișinău is long (~2.5h), but it's a truly boutique day-trip — naturally combined with Fautor Winery (10 km) and the Tigheci forest.
