Vinoteca Basavin is the project of producer Basavin (Causeni) — a wine shop-bar on Mihai Eminescu, dedicated especially to wines from southern Moldova (South Bessarabia, Valul lui Traian, Ștefan Vodă). 180+ labels available by the bottle, 30 by the glass, focus on local varietals: Fetească Albă, Fetească Neagră, Rara Neagră, Viorica, Plavai, Saperavi. The kitchen offers traditional Moldovan pairing platters: sheep cheese, homemade smoked charcuterie, salty brânză pies, sarmale in horseradish leaves. Guided tastings (5-7 wines paired with food) are scheduled weekly with the producers' winemakers present. Rustic-elegant atmosphere with stone walls, vintage oak furniture, antique bottle displays.
