Хорошо как первая остановка в центре — ориентир на площади Великого национального собрания, откуда начинается любая прогулка по городу.
Триумфальная арка Кишинёва (в народе "Святые ворота") была воздвигнута в 1840 году по проекту Луки Заушкевича в память о победе русской армии над османами в русско-турецкой войне 1828-1829 годов. Построенная из косэуцкого камня в стиле русского классицизма, высотой 13 м, в верхней части несёт колокол весом 6,4 т, отлитый из 8 османских пушек, захваченных в Измаиле. В подвале — действующее бомбоубежище времён ВОВ. Сегодня — символический центр Площади Великого Национального Собрания (место провозглашения независимости 27 августа 1991 года), окружённый собором Рождества Господня (1836), Парламентом и Правительством.
