EcoVillage Moldova is one of the few active permaculture projects in Moldova — an intentional community founded in 2014 near Criuleni, above a bend of the Dniester. Accommodation in 4 cottages built from straw, clay and wood, off the gas and industrial power grid: solar panels, sawdust stoves, spring water, dry toilets. Vegetarian meals from the biodynamic garden (200+ heritage vegetable varieties), sourdough bread baked in an earth oven. Permanent workshops: cob building, fermentation, herbalism, yoga, meditation. Hikes to Stânca Ciopleni and wild Dniester beach 1 km away.
