The Costești Tourist Complex sits on a large plot by Lake Costești, with pools, sports courts, a park, an event restaurant, and a welcoming camping area for foreign travelers. It's a classic weekend escape for Chișinău families — 90 km southwest, good road all the way. Strengths: the large pool is clean, the grounds are generous for kids, the lake atmosphere is calming, reception staff are warm, and campsite has electrical hookups for RVs. Caveat: the hotel rooms are poorly maintained (mildew, peeling wallpaper) — if staying overnight, pick camping or the individual cabins, not the hotel. The restaurant is decent, well-suited for weddings and big family meals.

“Nice wedding venue, friendly staff and food is lovely. The hotel part is horrible, moldy fridge, wallpaper peeling off, mildew in the bathrooms, rooms not cleaned from previous guests and had to be promoted to turn it around after we went up to the room! Made feel unwelcome at breakfast, 2 tables set with placements and cutlery for some conference they were hosting that morning…”
“Awesome place for foreign campers! Once we found reception, we received the warmest welcome. We parked right at the back, on the side of the pool complex, where we found an electricity plug we were welcome to use. Great pool, fab showers and a separate toilet block by the rear parking area. “Good place to stay for maybe a few hours, wonderful decor and scenery, the food is decent, but unfortunately the rooms are horrible. The pool is also okay-ish, the best thing there being the lake.
